Quick Start Guide to GreenMyParents136.16 KB

GreenMyParents is a movement that activates & enlists kids to lead their families in measuring & reducing environmental impact at home & “challenge” their parents to share savings with kids. Kids want to do something, and are very knowledgeable about the climate situation.

Our goals in the first year are:

  • Team #1 is 100 kids teaching 100 kids who will save US$100 in each family, and they will teach 100 kids each too, for 1,000,000 kids each saving their family US$100 in resources and energy - and each young person becomes the "Chief Sustainability Officer for their Home"
  • Team #2 is 100 young people teaching 100 more young people how to save UD$25,000 at their school.

GreenMyParents connects the environmental crises directly to life at home through personal action, simple, creative and meaningful solutions, and learning the values of sustainability, health, family and money.

GreenMyParents features fun “eco-assignments” that save money and the planet. Kids learn how to kill energy vampires, make their pets greener, and more. They grade their parents on saving energy, water and gasoline.

GreenMyParents teaches kids how to calculate savings from electricity & water bills and negotiate for their fair share of the money.

GreenMyParents Launched on Earth Day (April 22, 2010) with global programs planned through 2012.
